What happened to SPEED channel? On Aug. 17, SPEED becomes FOX Sports 1 on all major pay-TV providers. Many of the auto racing events previously airing on SPEED will now air on FS1.
On Saturday, Aug. 17, at 8am ET, SPEED will become FOX Sports 1, a new national sports network featuring live college football, auto racing, UFC, soccer, news shows and more. In most cases, the FOX Sports 1 channel will be the same channel formerly held by SPEED. Many of the auto racing events previously airing on SPEED will still air on FS1, including the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race, practice and qualifying, and complementary programming like NASCAR Live. Select NASCAR Sprint Cup races will come to FS1 beginning in 2015.

If I wanted to watch UFC i would watch spike. You killed Dave Despain. Fox should be arrested for wrongful death. You just don’t get it. It’s not just sports, it’s Racing.

Great, I now have (5) FOX channels. The local affiliated FOX channel, FOX Sports (Ohio), FOX Sports (South), FOX NEWS, and now FOX Sports 1 ;/ Really? I’m sorry but I’m FOXED out!
I guess they forgot that they already tried this and it failed miserably.
Hopefully what will happen is the people who started Speed Vision will bring that channel back because that was a great channel.

I remember the drive in theater movies they showed which had the true version of “Gone in Sixty Seconds” as well as other amazing car movies such as Vanishing Point and Dirty Mary and Crazy Larry.
The show “American Muscle Car” and they showed true stock car racing from the 60’s and 70’s, not the yuppie teams that are out there now.
The one show from the most recent line up I will miss is “R U faster than a Redneck”

Speed channel was my favorite channel. Now all the shows I liked are gone such as pinks, pinks all out, gearz, car warriors, pass time, etc… now all they have listed is ufc fight night and fox sports news. How do you start a new channel and only have to shows airing for the first day and then tommorrow it gets real exciting nascar raceday but not nascar racing nope get motorcycle circuit race and rolex circuit race then ufc unleashed and fox sports news all nite seriously thats a killer line up

SPEED was my number one channel. The only thing that I didn’t watch on SPEED was NASCAR and now SPEED is gone and FS1 only carries NASCAR. Just great. At first I thought SPEED had just switched channels and names but I go to 219 and find football on and UFC up next. That’s not all things cars, motorcycles and racing channel! I notice that fuel is gone too. Now where do we go to get our Super bike and MX racing on the weekends. To us gear heads this is like putting European bicycle racing on the football channel. It sucks and you’ll be losing another customer as soon as I find an alternative!
