CNN airs “Will and Kate Plus One” special as world awaits royal baby

New Day cohost Kate Bolduan will be helming a new CNN special called Will and Kate Plus One as royal-watchers everywhere eagerly anticipate the arrival of Kate and William’s royal baby. With a rumored due date for Kate Middleton having come and gone, Kate Bolduan interviews friends and family of the British royals to gain insight into the young couple as the birth of their royal baby rapidly approaches. Bolduan seeks insight into what the world will be like for the firstborn child of Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, and William, Duke of Cambridge and heir to the throne.

Among those interviewed by Bolduan in the Will and Kate special are Lady Elizabeth Anson, cousin of Queen Elizabeth II; John Haley, friend of the Middleton family and guest at the Royal Wedding; Lana Marks, personal friend of the late Princess Diana; Graham Butland, chief executive, East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices; and Katie Nicholl, CNN royal commentator and author of The Making of a Royal Romance.

“We are extremely excited to bring viewers this unique point of entry into the lives of the British royal family,” said Bud Bultman, Director, CNN Documentary Unit. “Kate’s reporting and access combine to make for a fascinating look into this historic moment.”

Along with this special, CNN says it will have additional coverage of the royal baby live on the day of the birth, covering events as they happen from locations such as Buckingham Palace, St. Mary’s Hospital and Bucklebury, home of the Middletons.

CNN also has a royal baby website, featuring the royal family tree, galleries of Kate’s baby bump over the months, and more.

Will and Kate Plus One airs July 18 at 10pm ET/PT on CNN.

The special will air on CNN International July 20 at 9pm CET, with a replay July 21 at 12pm CET.
