Madonna rocks the Super Bowl Halftime show

A safety opened scoring and a punter made the case for game MVP – Super Bowl XLVI between the Giants and Patriots got off to a slow first-half start. Thankfully, then there was Madonna.

The 53-year old pop icon played one of the best-ever Super Bowl XLVI Halftime shows, covering an electrifying mix of classics hits and new material in typically over-the-top fashion.

She entered the stage as a Cleopatra-like queen, carried by a legion of toga-wearing warrior-slaves, and promptly launched into “Vogue,” her tribute to screen goddesses. With tightrope dancers, floor screens surrounding the stage, a full gospel choir and a massive visual call for World Peace, one thing’s for sure – the woman knows how to put on a show!

Setlist
“Vogue”

“Give Me All Your Luvin'” feat. Nicki Minaj & M.I.A
“Express Yourself,” “Open Your Heart” & “Like a Prayer” mashup feat. Cee Lo Green

  1. I’m surprised no one here is talking about ‘the incident.’ Not sure what MIA was upset about but I’m afraid the Super Bowl halftime show is going to require mittens on future performers!

  2. At the party I was at where the youngest was 10 and the oldest was probably 56 (total of about 20-25 people) everyone really enjoyed the show. Madonna’s music is recognized my so many generations – she kept it clean, the choreography was exceptional and the music was well known and liked. Best half time act in a very, very long time.
