“Terra Nova” interactive experience kicks off at Comic-Con, travels country

By Jeff Pfeiffer

After more than a year’s worth of anticipation, FOX’s new drama Terra Nova — an adventure about people time-traveling back to prehistoric Earth to change humanity’s future — will finally hit the airwaves on Sept. 26 with a two-hour premiere. Leading up to that, FOX will be kicking off an interactive fan experience called Journey to Terra Nova this Thursday, July 21, at Comic-Con in San Diego. From there, it will travel to 20 additional markets around the U.S. this summer and early fall.

The branded, solar-powered bus will house an interactive video green screen, where fans can digitally insert themselves into a scene from the series and then share it with friends via social media outlets by visiting www.journeytoterranova.com. Visitors to the mobile experience can watch an exclusive sneak peek of the show, relax at a futuristic oxygen bar and receive limited-edition Terra Nova posters, and those visitors who are over 18 years of age and over can enter for a chance to win a trip to Australia, where the series is filmed.

Fans will also be able to collect exclusive Terra Nova Pilgrimage Badges. These are available at San Diego Comic-Con and throughout the tour. Pilgrimage Stickers can also be unlocked by checking in to Terra Nova via GetGlue. Different stickers will be available each day Thursday through Sunday, and additional badges and stickers will be available throughout the tour.

And on another social media front, fans can visit Terra Nova‘s Facebook page to interact with the Countdown to Terra Nova Facebook app, a countdown experience that features more than 60 new pieces of original scripted content, one released every day until the series premiere on Sept. 26.
