Second season of Kendra Wilkinson series picked up by E!

Production will begin early next year on Season 2 of E!’s Kendra, a reality series following the life of former Playmate and Hugh Hefner squeeze Kendra Wilkinson as she leaves the comfort of the Playboy Mansion to make a life of her own.

Big changes will be in store for Kendra and new husband Hank Baskett, a wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles. The couple is expecting their first child in December, and Kendra is moving in to Hank’s New Jersey home so they can be together year-round.

“We saw a marriage in Season 1,” says Lisa Berger, executive vice president of original programming and series development at E!, “and now we are going to see Kendra navigate the unfamiliar waters of being a newlywed and a new parent all at the same time.”

The series debut of Kendra in June set new records for E!, averaging 2.6 million total viewers. New episodes on Sundays continue to attract nearly 2 million viewers. The couple’s June wedding at the Playboy Mansion will be featured in a one-hour special Aug. 9 on E!

E! has announced that Ryan Seacrest and Giuliana Rancic will host the network’s pre-Oscars red-carpet coverage this Sunday, March 2, beginning at 5:30pm ET (a countdown to the red carpet begins at 1:30pm ET). The network also detailed its post-show coverage.
