TSST! “Dog Whisperer” Becomes U.S. Citizen

By Jeff Pfeiffer

I wasn’t aware that “Dog Whisperer” Cesar Millan, pack leader on the hit National Geographic Channel series, was not an official U.S. citizen. That has now been changed. Don’t worry — he hasn’t been here illegally to do his dog training, but has been a legal resident for years. He passed his citizenship test earlier this year, then attended the official swearing-in ceremony yesterday in Los Angeles, joining dozens of others as new Americans. He was accompanied by his wife and two sons, who are already U.S. citizens.

On his website, Millan, who was born in Mexico, expresses his excitement and pride at this achievement. “Immigrants such as myself come to the United States because of the opportunities available here. … I came here with nothing but the clothes on my back, and through the kindness of strangers and hard work, I was able to see my dreams become a reality. Now, by spreading my message of balance, I work to give back to a country that has given me so much.”

There was no comment from his dogs at this time.
