Normally “name-dropping” isn’t too appealing to most people, but fans of Dancing With the Stars will likely be on the edge of their seats listening for name drops this Sunday, Feb. 8, on ABC.
The network will be revealing the next batch of stars for Season 8 of the hit competition series in interstitials airing throughout its Sunday night lineup, in a stunt ABC is referring to as the All Night Name Drop.
Beginning with Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, and continuing through Desperate Housewives and Brothers & Sisters, DWTS host Tom Bergeron will “drop” cast names here and there. So yes, you’ve got to sit through the shows if you normally don’t (or at least DVR them if you don’t mind not hearing the names right away). ABC.com will also be posting each name as it is revealed.
The next day, Feb. 9, one of the new cast members will be giving his/her first live in-studio interview on Good Morning America, and Jimmy Kimmel plays host to one of the newbies on Jimmy Kimmel Live Feb. 10.
Season 8 of Dancing With the Stars premieres March 9 on ABC.
