What to Expect: The 22nd season brings more people who think the law somehow doesn’t apply to them. If only idiocy were an all-purpose alibi, those apprehended would be in less trouble. Cameras capture perpetrators as they drink and drive, use illegal drugs in front of their kids, and settle disagreements with weapons. Officers apprehend them, often after chases that rival anything in action movies. Watching drug stings unfold and listening to culprits’ outlandish stories makes viewers wonder how the police keep a straight face listening to this nonsense. A simple road stop regularly yields an unregistered car, barbiturates, crack, marijuana … and this isn’t even considered unusual.
