What’s It All About? This hugely anticipated series comes from executive producer Steven Spielberg, and promises to be a visually astounding and exciting show. It follows an ordinary family embarking on a journey back in time to prehistoric Earth as a small part of a massive experiment to save the human race.

In the year 2149, the world is dying. The planet is overdeveloped, overcrowded and overpolluted. Knowing there is no way to reverse the damage to the planet, a coalition of scientists has managed to open up a fracture in the space-time continuum, creating a portal to prehistoric Earth. This doorway leads to an amazing world, one that allows for a last-ditch effort to save the human race…possibly changing the future by correcting the mistakes of the past.

The series centers on the Shannon family as they join the tenth pilgrimage of settlers to Terra Nova, the first colony of humans in this second chance for civilization. Jim Shannon (O’Mara), a devoted father with a checkered past, guides his family – wife Elisabeth and children Josh and Maddy – through this new land of limitless beauty, mystery and terror. In addition to blue skies, rolling rivers and lush vegetation, Terra Nova offers new opportunities and fresh beginnings to its recent arrivals, but the Shannons have brought with them a familial secret that may threaten their citizenship in this utopia. These adventurers soon discover that this healthy, vibrant world is not as idyllic as it initially appears. The areas surrounding Terra Nova are filled with dangerous dinosaurs and other prehistoric threats, as well as external forces that may be intent on destroying this new world before it begins.

Look for FOX to show a preview episode of Terra Nova in May 2011 (as they did with Glee last year), then formally debut the series in Fall 2011.

A con man who has married his way into an oil dynasty complicates his life when he takes a second wife. How long can he keep up the scam?

What’s It All About? Ever since he was a child, Bob (Wolk) and his father (David Keith) have been living as con artists, gaining people’s trust, fleecing them and running away. Now, as a young man, Bob has managed to get himself into a legitimate, promising and high-paying position with a major oil firm — in part by marrying the daughter of its founder, but also through his own hard work. He wants to get out of the con and go legitimate, but there are a couple of small problems — namely, the girlfriend and the alternate life he’s constructed away from the scam. But there’s also a bigger problem — his father is reluctant to let his son go his own way.

This show has the potential to be huge this season. Con artists and big oil, potential for bigamy (think Dallas-sized drama) and it’s on FOX. This could be this year’s show for the American everyman, and we’re already trying to pipeline our way to Episode 2.

What To Expect: For those who are already fans, it will be important to note that the show moves to Friday nights. For those who aren’t yet, expect the old good cop, bad cop routine from this action comedy. Hanks plays the good cop, a by-the-book detective named Jack Bailey, who has been partnered with Dan Stark (Whitford), a hard-living former hero of the Dallas Police Department who prefers the old-school method of busting punks.

Newcomer Lucas Neff plays Jimmy Chance, a 23-year-old guy who can barely take care of himself, let alone the baby he has just been charged with raising, after his partner in a one-night stand turns out to be a fugitive destined for death row.

What’s It All About? We’d say it’s about the midpoint between creator Greg Garcia’s previous two series, My Name Is Earl and Yes, Dear — at least as far as subject matter goes.

“I think I had a bit of a hankering to get back to a domestic comedy of sorts, and do more of a family-based show, but I wanted to do so in a more outrageous and peculiar way,” says Garcia.

Thankfully, the quality of the comedy leans a little closer to Earl. Raising Hope is inhabited by the same type of bizarre, blue-collar characters who made that show oddly endearing. Newcomer Lucas Neff plays Jimmy Chance, a 23-year-old guy who can barely take care of himself, let alone the baby he has just been charged with raising, after his partner in a one-night stand turns out to be a fugitive destined for death row. With nothing better to do with his life, he takes on the challenge with gusto and a complete lack of know-how. That’s where his parents, who were similarly unprepared to raise him as teenagers, come in. In our favorite bit of casting this season, Garcia tabbed the Emmy- and Tony-nominated Plimpton — who you also might remember as one of the Goonies — as Jimmy’s unlikely sitcom mom.

“I was just kind of Googling birthdates of actresses of around the time that I think this person should be and boom, there was her name. And I was like, ‘Oh my God. Martha Plimpton. I love Martha Plimpton.’”

We do, too. And while it’s still too early to tell for sure, we think we’re also pretty fond of Raising Hope.

Bob’s burgers are great, even if the service, cleanliness and location (it’s next to a funeral home) are lacking. But Bob’s got plenty of ideas for his business to compete with his biggest rival, Jimmy Pesto’s Pizzeria.

What’s It All About? Steven Wilde (Arnett), the son of an oil tycoon and has lived a life of excess and privilege, and Emmy Kadubic (Russell), a tree-hugging do-gooder living among an isolated South American tribe, shared teenage crushes long ago. When Emmy learns that Wilde Oil wants to drill on the tribe’s homeland, she and her 12-year-old daughter Puddle (who narrates the show) go to Beverly Hills to plead with Steven to have his father call off the drilling. In the process, Emmy discovers that Steven isn’t entirely a shallow jerk, and she decides to transform him from a man who is a good for nothing to a man who does good for nothing.

Viewers might find some of the show’s jabs at oil companies (Wilde Oil’s slogan is “We’ll Clean Up Tomorrow!”) especially poignant in the wake of the catastrophe in the Gulf of Mexico. “The oil ecological disaster occurred while we were shooting the pilot, and it was a little bit eerie that we had this character on our show, the heir to an oil fortune, who is in love with a woman who is desperately fighting companies like this — and not only that, but actually sending so-called oil bombs,” Arnett tells us. “All this sort of stuff, it seemed very strange. Maybe it just means that our show is very contemporary, that we’re of the times. I have no idea. But I can say that it was a little bit eerie, and I can’t say I know how we’re going to deal with that going forward. We’re certainly not making light of what happened.”

What to Expect: Everyone reunites, and Booth enters a new relationship with a character played by Katheryn Winnick and just might be flashing some see-what-you’re-missing-out-on vibes Bones’ way. Guest stars include David Alan Grier (In Living Color) as a Bill Nye the Science Guy-type TV host, and Antonio Sabato Jr. (General Hospital) as a club bouncer.
